Top Spots in Madrid for the Healthy Traveller

On my little trip to Madrid I found some serious healthy and vegan gems.

Special Dining Experience – Crucina

Raw flaxseed crackers with avocado salsa, garden salad, meat-free ‘meat-balls’ with tomato salsa, lemon and chocolate mousse

One of the best raw vegan fine dining experience I have ever had – and I have tried a lot! Every dish is prepared so carefully, the balance of flavours and pure ingredients used make each mouthful as delightful as the next. We were lucky enough to get a private dining experience with one of the chef’s at Crucina, who explained each dish to us and had a clear passion for raw vegan cooking. If you are in Madrid, you cannot miss this dining experience.

Australian inspired brunch in the middle of Madrid with plenty vegan options. The atmosphere is trendy and the crowd ranges from hipsters on laptops to families with dogs to girly brunch dates – so there is definitely something for everyone. Top of the brunch list for health nuts and vegans.

Casual Dining – Vega

This place was so good we went back for more despite our limited time in Madrid. This is a vegan foodies dream – everything on the menu is packed with flavour, well portioned and super creative. The vibe is casual and loud, great for anytime of day.

Shop/Café Combo – Fit Food

Green acai bowl

They have an impressive selection of good quality healthy snacks and health products in their little shop. Every smoothie and acai bowl looks too good, all vegan and packed with superfoods. They make a mean matcha latte and vegan latte, offer great juice cleanse packages and have a fab little couch area at the back for you to enjoy your smoothie with a friend.

Value for Money – The Little Big Café

Chicken, watermelon and avocado salad; chicken, quinoa and tahini salad

Such a cute little café to sit and work in with a nice healthy lunch or afternoon tea! They have a salad, sandwich and freshly squeezed juice offer that is heard to beat price wise, with lots of options for vegans and health nuts to choose from.

Madrid is an unexpected delight; the health and fitness industries are clearly on the rise. These are just a few places out of many to enjoy.
